The Supplementary Education & Learning Support Programme was established to help address educational challenges and provide additional academic support for children and young people within our community. At M&C Foundation, we recognised that many families and students were facing difficulties accessing consistent educational support outside of school hours.
During the early stages of our foundation’s work, we became increasingly aware of the level of educational underachievement experienced by some of our beneficiaries. Many young people shared that they had limited support with homework, revision, and exam preparation at home, which often affected both their academic progress and confidence.
In response, we developed our weekend supplementary school programme to provide a structured, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where students can strengthen their knowledge, improve study habits, and gain additional academic guidance.
The programme takes place every Saturday and Sunday, with each session running for approximately three hours. Through dedicated support from volunteers, tutors, and mentors, students are encouraged to develop confidence in their abilities while improving their educational performance in a positive and inclusive setting.
Over time, we have seen many pupils make meaningful progress not only in their studies, but also in their self-confidence, communication skills, and motivation towards learning. The programme continues to provide valuable educational opportunities and support for young people and families across the community.
